Penelope Curwen is an Associate Director at Critical Resource and co-leads the client work delivery team. She has worked on assignments for mining and energy clients across Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Former Soviet Union.
Prior to joining Critical Resource, Penelope worked with political risk consultancy AKE Intelligence on Europe and the former Soviet Union, and with the Liberal Democrats. Her research interests focus on the links between natural resources, conflict and development.
Penelope holds an MSc with Distinction in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics (LSE), and was awarded the MSc Conflict Studies Prize for best overall performance. Before this, she graduated with a first-class honours BA in European Social and Political Studies from University College London (UCL), receiving a Distinction in Spanish.
