Steve Botts has over 30 years’ experience in the mining sector, serving most recently as President and CEO of Minera Panama. He was also Vice President of Sustainability for AngloGold Ashanti Americas, and the General Manager for Rio Tinto’s La Granja Copper Project from 2006-2009. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Steve worked for Compañía Minera Antamina for more than 8 years; first as Director of Environment Health and Safety (EHS), and then as VP EHS. Steve’s experience in the mining sector has focused on the areas of project development, environmental management, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable development. He has lived and worked in Latin America for over 15 years. Steve formerly served on the board of directors for AQM Copper. He has a B.S. Degree in General Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Masters Degree in Environmental Policy and Management program from the University of Denver.
